Are you writing exams about development issues or managing your own project in Africa ? |
Why should you choose Africa ? “ It's the first time in Africa for me and it's great that I live this experience in Africa . Everyday at least one surprise… women cooking in the streets and carrying water on their heads, children in the streets, great night life, life is too exciting to stay at home! My working environment is very friendly but completely different to the environment I know. I get a deep insight in this culture which facilitates cooperation… ” – Conny from Austria - Africa is situated in a blessed area of the World, where almost all climates, flora and fauna can be found. For this reason, Africa is an important provider of raw materials, and plays an important role in the world's environment. Most spoken languages are English, French, Arabic and Swahili. Economic activities vary from the primary sector (agriculture, fishery) to the “new economy” services (telecommunications, finance). For these reasons, AIESEC Africa is able to offer internships in a very rich scope of sectors. African AIESEC members promote a “Culture of Excellence” within their stakeholders, where resources are not counted in terms of money, but in passion and strategic thinking. |
Our Projects Based Our projects are run regionally and successfully implemented among our stakeholders. Local NGOs and Enterprises are not only internship providers but also Learning Partners, and we involve not only universities but also high schools in our projects. Currently, we are implementing projects based on exchange (P-BoX) around the following issues: ASK Program (HIV/AIDS): i nterns offer youth peer education in high schools. This way, the people involved in this project will become a generation of dynamic HIV/AIDS leaders and they will support indirectly, the creation of awareness within the youth and the re-integration of affected social groups in the Cameroonian society. YES Program (Entrepreneurship): africanos and non-africanos will create teams that will support organizations and young entrepreneurs on conceiving a business idea and/or develop an existing plan to put it into reality. We are also building up initiatives around Corporate Social Responsibility, Education and Tourism, in order to consolidate Africa as a know-how provider in the AIESEC Network. |
Are you interested? Recruitment for these projects will start in February 2008
